It started when they were children!
When Polkadot Carly and Polkadot Dionne were little girls, their dad and I were often issued with tickets to their ‘super concerts’. After being seated in the lounge by our ‘ushers’, we were always thoroughly entertained with original songs and dances and plays by the principal cast of two and whichever other brothers or friends they could persuade to be part of the show. Being a typical parent, I was always impressed with their ability to ad lib and create music and lyrics on the spot depending on the topic or mood.
Nothing much has changed.
The girls still love to create new songs and dances and now it’s with Dez and Sarah plus they have the added motivation of performing for their own children and everybody else’s. I’m also being issued new ‘tickets’ and getting to watch my second generation of concerts as the grandchildren take to the stage (or the table or the deck or the middle of the lounge) to perform their new numbers and, of course, the Polkadot ones.
I’m so glad I got to attend those first productions. Who knew we had stars in the making!
