Shooby dooby wop, lets clean up now!
This one particular morning I was feeling extremely pathetic and sorry for myself because I knew that I really needed to clean my windows, but being 8 months pregnant, the thought of cleaning windows just wasn’t seeming like the easiest task at the time. “Poor me! Poor me! Poor me!” I kept thinking to myself. I reluctantly decided to tackle the task and started the daunting job of cleaning the windows, all 55 of them! Boo hoo!
To my surprise both my girls decided that cleaning windows looked like lots of fun so I took advantage of their energy and enthusiasm, and their ability to get up and down a lot faster than me! I gave them a bottle of Mr Muscle glass cleaner each and told them to “Go for it.” And that’s exactly what they did. They went for it and cleaned the whole house! The whole time they kept singing our favourite clean up song “Shooby dooby wop wop, shooby dooby wow, shooby dooby wop, lets clean up now!” So what started as a mundane and boring Saturday morning of cleaning actually turned out to be a fun spring cleaning adventure with my girls.
Thanks girls for the shining windows, sparkly clean house (you know I’m all about the sparkles) and the fun cleaning adventure!
How have you turned mundane cleaning tasks into fun activities or learning adventures? Please share . . . I’m always looking for ways to make house cleaning more exciting!
